Accessibility statement

Technology should never be a barrier to prayer.

This page explains what PrayerList Pro supports today, how to use it with the tools you rely on, and how to reach us. Last reviewed October 13, 2026.

Our commitment

Room at the table

We think of accessibility as hospitality: making room at the table for everyone who wants to pray. Whether you use VoiceOver, read with much larger text, find dragging hard or simply didn’t grow up with smartphones, there should be room for you.

Accessibility is not a badge for us, and the work is never finished. We review PrayerList Pro for accessibility and keep improving it as the app grows, from labels and text sizes to contrast, motion and the size of buttons.

If something doesn’t work the way you need it to, we want to hear about it, and we’ll do our best to help.

What works today

Designed for VoiceOver and Dynamic Type

Here is what that means in practice, from your prayer list to the journal and the Bible.

This section describes PrayerList Pro on iPhone and iPad. Features can vary by device, software version and settings.

Labeled for VoiceOver.

Buttons and controls have names that VoiceOver reads aloud. The pray button says “Pray” before you begin, “Prayer in progress” while you pray, and “Prayer recorded” when you finish.

Text that follows your setting.

PrayerList Pro uses the text size you choose on your device. That includes what you write in the journal and the chapters you read in the Bible, not only the buttons and menus.

Layouts that make room.

At larger text sizes, screens rearrange so the words fit. Journal titles and dates wrap onto more lines, and the Prayer Life chart becomes a list you can read one line at a time.

No dragging needed.

With VoiceOver, prayers and groups offer the actions “Move up” and “Move down,” so you can put your list in the order you want without dragging.

Words for drawings and photos.

In the journal, “Review drawings and images” lists every drawing and photo in an entry, in order. Choose one and describe it in your own words. The description is saved as journal text just below the drawing or photo, so VoiceOver reads it in place, and you can edit it later.

A Bible panel you can resize without dragging.

On iPad, when the Bible is open beside your journal in a wide window, such as in landscape, you can change its width with VoiceOver, the arrow keys or a keyboard shortcut. Dragging still works too.

Bigger buttons.

We made many small controls larger, to the 44-point minimum that Apple recommends. The journal toolbar and the Settings button on iPad are two examples.

Large names for small buttons.

Sometimes a small bar appears above the tab bar, for example while Church Mode is on. At the largest text sizes, press and hold a button in that bar, and Large Content Viewer shows its name in large type. This needs iOS 26.1 or later.

Contrast, measured and fixed.

We measured the contrast of text and icons and fixed the places where they were too faint. In one place, the contrast ratio rose from 3.44:1 to 6.17:1.

Calmer motion.

When Reduce Motion is on, many animations in PrayerList Pro are gentler. The moment of light for an answered prayer is quieter, and the iPhone Duo layouts change with less movement.

Fewer precise gestures.

Mark a prayer prayed with I Prayed on its reminder. Or, without opening the app, tap the circle next to the prayer in a Home Screen widget, or tell Siri. With VoiceOver, the widget circle for a prayer called Healing reads “Mark Healing prayed.”

No password to remember.

There is no account, so there is no password to create. Sync between your devices uses the iCloud account already on them. If you turn on Lock App, you can unlock it with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. Lock App doesn’t hide widgets or reminder notifications.

Step-by-step help

Using PrayerList Pro with your tools

Short steps for a few common tasks. With VoiceOver on iPhone and iPad, swipe up or down to hear the actions for the selected item, then double-tap to choose one.

Put your prayers in order with VoiceOver

iPhone and iPad

  1. In your prayer list, go to the prayer you want to move.
  2. Swipe up or down until you hear “Move up” or “Move down.”
  3. Double-tap. The prayer moves one place. Repeat until it is where you want it.

Groups move the same way. The first item in a list has no “Move up,” and the last has no “Move down.”

Make the text larger

iPhone and iPad

  1. Open Settings, then go to Accessibility › Display & Text Size › Larger Text.
  2. Choose a size. For the largest sizes, turn on Larger Accessibility Sizes.
  3. Go back to PrayerList Pro. Your list, your journal and the Bible follow the new size.

To change the size for PrayerList Pro only, use Settings › Accessibility › Per-App Settings.

Describe a drawing or photo in your journal

iPhone and iPad

  1. Open the journal entry.
  2. Choose “Review drawings and images.” While you write, it is in the toolbar above the keyboard. With VoiceOver, you can also swipe up or down on the entry to find it.
  3. Choose a drawing or photo from the numbered list. Each one shows the words near it, so you know which is which.
  4. Choose Add Text Description. In Describe This Object, type what it shows, then choose Add Description.

Your description appears below the drawing or photo as journal text, where you can read and edit it.

Mark a prayer prayed from a reminder

iPhone and iPad

  1. When a prayer reminder arrives, press and hold it. With VoiceOver, swipe up or down on it to hear its actions.
  2. Choose I Prayed.

Change the width of the Bible panel

iPad

  1. In a wide window, such as in landscape, open the Bible beside a journal entry.
  2. With VoiceOver, move to “Bible panel width.” Swipe up to make the panel wider, or swipe down to make it narrower.
  3. With a keyboard, press ⌥⌘] to make it wider or ⌥⌘[ to make it narrower. You can also move the focus to the width control and use the left and right arrow keys.

Mark a prayer prayed with Siri

iPhone and iPad

  1. Say “I prayed for Mom in PrayerList Pro,” using the name of a prayer on your list.
  2. Siri answers, “Amen. Your prayer for Mom is recorded.”

Ongoing work

How we keep improving

Accessibility is ongoing work, and we treat it that way.

We review PrayerList Pro with VoiceOver, at larger text sizes and with a keyboard, and we keep extending that work to more devices and assistive technologies.

  • Every device is a little different. PrayerList Pro runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV and Apple Vision Pro, and the experience can vary by device, software version and the settings you use.
  • Content from others. Some content, such as articles in Resources, comes from other publishers, and we can’t control how it is made.
  • Your feedback shapes the work. When you tell us what gets in your way, it helps us decide what to improve next.

If anything makes the app hard to use, please tell us. We’ll do our best to help you with another way to do it, and to improve the app.

Tell us

If something gets in your way

Please tell us. We want to know.

It helps to know what you were trying to do, which device you use, and which settings you rely on, such as VoiceOver or a larger text size. Share only what you’re comfortable sharing.

This website

About this website

We built this website with the same care. Our target is WCAG 2.2 at level AA. That is a goal we work toward, not a certification.

  • It follows your browser’s text size and zoom, and your device’s dark mode and reduced motion settings.
  • It works with a keyboard alone, with a link to skip to the main content and a visible outline on the item in focus.
  • Headings, labels and image descriptions are written so that screen readers can follow them.

We check it with automated tools (axe and Lighthouse) and with a keyboard alone.
